HWN #021: 4 Simple Ways Busy Adults Can Make Time for Exercise
Jan 13, 2024I am busy. You are busy. We are all busy.
Which makes it incredibly hard to focus on our health and fitness and make progress over the long-term.
But it doesn't have to be that way.
You can make progress.
You can live a busy life and take control and improve your health and fitness.
So today, I am sharing with you 4 simple ways that busy adults can make more time for exercise.
Let's jump in!
4 Simple Ways Busy Adults Can Make Time for Exercise
- Prioritize and Schedule
- Be active during the day
- Short, efficient workouts are key
- Early morning or lunch time workouts
1. Prioritize and Schedule
Treat exercise as a non-negotiable part of your day.
Schedule it into your calendar just like you would any other important task or meeting. By prioritizing it, you're more likely to stick to your exercise routine.
And as we know, consistency is the key to long-term progress and results with your health and fitness.
2. Be Active During the Day
Look for opportunities to be active throughout the day.
Take the stairs instead of the elevator, walk or bike to work if possible, or take short breaks for a quick walk.
This way, you're incorporating physical activity into your daily routine.
3. Short, Efficient Workouts are Key
Short, efficient workouts, often referred to as high-intensity interval training (HIIT) or circuit training, offer numerous benefits, especially for those who have limited time for exercise.
These workouts typically last from 15 to 30 minutes and involve bursts of high-intensity activity followed by short rest periods or lower-intensity activity.
4. Early Morning Workouts
Schedule your workouts in the morning. By getting it done early in the day, you're less likely to let other obligations get in the way.
It can also boost your energy levels and set a positive tone for the rest of the day.
In Summary
Remember, the key to results and success with your health and fitness, especially for busy parents, is to make it as easy as possible to consistently get your workouts in.
It's about making the time to get those workouts in, week after week, month after month, around the hectic and busy life that you live.
In health,
Craig
